Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the things people ask us most. Can't find what you need? Email us above.

What does QuitVape Pro unlock?

The breathing exercise (Panic button), the activity heatmap, the daily-average chart, the hourly craving-pattern chart, and the smart craving reminders that fire shortly before your peak craving hour. Everything else — the quit timer, the health milestones, money saved, basic craving logging, and history — is free forever.

How do I subscribe?

Open the app → Settings → Manage subscription → View plans. Pick monthly ($3.99 with a 3-day free trial) or annual ($19.99 with a 7-day free trial). Apple handles billing through your Apple ID.

How do I restore my purchase on a new device?

Make sure you're signed into the same Apple ID, then open Settings → Manage subscription → Restore Purchases. Pro will re-activate within a few seconds.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by the app. Either:

  • Inside QuitVape: Settings → Manage subscription → Manage in App Store (this deep-links you straight to the right place), or
  • In iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → QuitVape.

Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You won't be charged again, and Pro features stay available until the period ends.

I cancelled but I'm still being charged. What now?

QuitVape never charges you directly — every payment runs through Apple. Open Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions in iOS to confirm the subscription is cancelled. If something looks off, contact Apple Support for refunds or billing disputes; I don't have access to your purchase history and can't issue refunds myself.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds go through Apple, not QuitVape. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com and pick the QuitVape charge.

Where is my data stored?

Entirely on your device, in a local Core Data store. There's no account, no cloud sync, no upload. Everything you see in History is on your iPhone only — no one (including me) can read it.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Delete All Data. This wipes your profile, every craving, every quit attempt, and every preference, then drops you back into onboarding. There's a confirmation step; it's irreversible. Uninstalling the app also removes everything.

Will my data sync to iCloud or another device?

Not in this version. The only way to get your data to a new device is iOS's full-device backup (iCloud Backup or a Mac backup), which restores everything when you set up the new phone.

What does the app send to a server?

Only anonymous Firebase Analytics events — screen views, button taps, plan selections, purchase outcomes — with no craving content and no personal information. Full details in the Privacy Policy.

I slipped. Did I lose everything?

No. When you log a slip, QuitVape ends your current quit attempt but keeps every milestone you've already unlocked and preserves your best streak in history. Starting fresh begins a new attempt; the old one stays on the record. If you log a slip by mistake, swipe to delete the slip event in History and the streak resumes from where it broke — the app folds the post-slip attempt back into the original.

Why are my health milestones based on hours, not days?

Some recovery happens fast — heart rate normalises in an hour, blood oxygen recovers in 12 hours, nicotine clears in 72 hours. Showing only days would hide the early wins. The milestones are based on general public-health research about nicotine cessation, not your individual medical history. Always consult a healthcare provider for personal medical advice.

Why did my "Best streak" not update?

Best streak is the longest completed attempt at any point in your history. Your current running streak is shown on the dashboard with the "longest yet" badge appearing automatically once it crosses your previous best.

What notifications does QuitVape send?

Three kinds, all opt-in via Settings → Notification preferences:

  • Daily check-in — a gentle morning nudge.
  • Milestone celebrations — fires when you cross a health milestone.
  • Smart craving reminders (Pro) — a daily nudge timed an hour before your peak craving hour, computed from your craving history.

All notifications are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing is sent from a server.

I denied the notification permission. Can I change my mind?

Yes — open iOS Settings → Notifications → QuitVape and toggle Allow Notifications on. The app picks it up the next time you open it.

Can I change currency?

Settings → Currency. Pick from any active ISO currency; the money tile and history reformat instantly.

The app crashes / something looks broken.

Email [email protected] with:

  • what you were doing when it happened,
  • your iPhone model + iOS version (iOS Settings → General → About),
  • a screenshot if you have one.

Quick reproduction steps help a lot.

I have a feature idea.

I read every email. Tell me what would make the app more useful and why.
